Dr. Karishma Kirti, a dedicated breast surgeon, believes that awareness is as important as treatment in improving outcomes. Beyond the operating room, she actively promotes breast health awareness through social media, workshops, and community engagements. By simplifying complex medical concepts, debunking myths, and encouraging open conversations, she helps women make informed decisions about their health. Her efforts have inspired many women to overcome fear and seek timely treatment after learning about options such as breast conservation and oncoplasty through her reels. With late-stage breast cancer diagnoses remaining a major concern in India, Dr. Karishma continues to bridge the gap between medical expertise and public understanding. Through her commitment to surgical excellence, compassion, education, and advocacy, she empowers women to take charge of their health and highlights the life-saving power of awareness.

2. Pawdopt
Founded in 2021, Pawdopt is a dedicated animal welfare initiative committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned and surrendered animals while encouraging responsible pet ownership. Led by animal welfare advocates Nandita Saigal, Rhea Chhabria, and Nikunj Sule, the organization has grown into a recognized adoption wing of Thane CPCA. Beyond facilitating adoptions, Pawdopt offers a comprehensive support system that includes vaccinations, sterilizations, access to veterinarians and trainers, and dignified last rites for pets. The organization rehomes 20–30 animals every month, cares for over 300 community animals, and has introduced Mumbai’s first no-profit, no-loss animal ambulance service. By promoting adoption over unethical pet trade practices, Pawdopt helps families embrace responsible pet parenting while providing continued post-adoption support. Their work underscores the power of compassion, collaboration, and awareness in creating meaningful and lasting impact for animals and the communities that care for them.

3. N.S Naveen
Naveen, popularly known as The Lupus Guy, is a passionate advocate dedicated to raising awareness about lupus and autoimmune diseases in India. Drawing from his own experience of living with lupus, he combines endurance and advocacy by running marathons to bring visibility to these often overlooked conditions. Through his efforts, he works to expand awareness beyond the medical community and into public consciousness. Naveen also advocates for policy change, urging the government to recognize lupus-related organ complications under the disability act to ensure greater support for patients living with the condition. His work not only inspires those facing chronic illness but also highlights the need for stronger recognition of autoimmune diseases in India. By transforming personal challenges into meaningful advocacy, Naveen continues to champion visibility, dignity, and support for the lupus community.

4. Mitti Café
Mitti Café is a pioneering social enterprise dedicated to empowering adults with physical, intellectual, and psychiatric disabilities through skill development and meaningful employment. By operating sustainable cafés managed by persons with disabilities, the organization creates opportunities for inclusion while challenging societal perceptions. Having served over 11 million meals and enabled more than 5,500 livelihoods, Mitti Café demonstrates how entrepreneurship can create lasting social impact. Its efforts also extend to supporting economically vulnerable communities through the distribution of over 6 million meals. Beyond food service, Mitti Café works to break stereotypes, highlight abilities, and promote greater acceptance and inclusion. Through its scalable model, the organization envisions a future where opportunities are accessible to all, proving that empowering individuals can transform communities and drive meaningful change.

5. GoodKarma Farms
GoodKarma Farms is an innovative agricultural initiative dedicated to promoting dignity, fairness, and sustainability in farming. Driven by a commitment to improving the lives of agricultural workers, the organization pays farmers double the average wage, with plans to increase it further, ensuring their contributions are valued and fairly rewarded. GoodKarma Farms focuses on cultivating healthy, organic produce through environmentally responsible practices while addressing long-standing challenges faced by farming communities. Reflecting its community-centered approach, the organization donates 20% of its produce to Child Care Institutions, helping provide vulnerable children with access to fresh and nutritious food. In addition to farming, GoodKarma advocates for greater awareness of nutrition, sustainability, and ethical agricultural practices. By combining social responsibility with sustainable farming, GoodKarma Farms is creating a model that supports farmers, strengthens communities, and promotes a healthier future for both people and the planet.

6. Millet Tribe
Millet Tribe is a wellness-focused initiative dedicated to reconnecting people with the benefits of ancient grains. Inspired by a personal journey of healing, the movement was founded by a health enthusiast and celiac survivor who experienced the transformative impact of millets—naturally gluten-free, nutritious, and versatile. Since 2022, Millet Tribe has been promoting awareness and adoption of millet-based diets, helping families embrace wholesome eating habits rooted in traditional food wisdom. Through collaborations with hospitals, ISKCON Pune, corporates, and schools, the initiative has positively influenced over 1,000 individuals, encouraging healthier lifestyle choices and long-term well-being. More than advocating a dietary shift, Millet Tribe is fostering greater awareness of nutrition, sustainability, and mindful living. By bringing millets back into everyday meals, the initiative envisions a future where food supports better health, stronger communities, and a more sustainable way of life.

7. Imaara Survivor Support Foundation
Imaara is a survivor-led foundation committed to transforming societal responses to gender-based violence (GBV) by placing survivors at the center of healing, advocacy, and change. Founded by survivor and advocate Rasika Sundaram, the organization works to amplify survivor voices while creating pathways to recovery and empowerment. Its key initiatives include the Butterfly Hug Program, which offers trauma-informed psychological support and connects survivors with shelters, legal aid, and counseling; Bystander Training, which equips communities to respond effectively to violence; Art for Healing, which combines creative expression with livelihood opportunities; and Project Tell-Tale, a survivor-led storytelling initiative aimed at driving policy reform. Recognized by UN Women and World Pulse, Imaara continues to challenge stigma, silence, and victim-blaming while fostering informed and supportive communities. 8. Sisters Living Works
Sisters Living Works is a Mumbai-based nonprofit organization focused on suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Since its inception in 2015, the organization has worked to build supportive, stigma-free communities through workshops, awareness campaigns, support groups, and conferences. Its programs equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to identify warning signs, provide timely support, and encourage open conversations about mental health. Through more than 200 initiatives, Sisters Living Works has reached over 55,000 people and cultivated a dedicated volunteer network committed to promoting mental well-being and suicide prevention. By creating safe spaces, supporting survivors and families, and encouraging community-driven action, the organization continues to foster greater awareness, empathy, and resilience. 12. Pay Autention
Tata Power’s Pay Autention program is India’s first comprehensive “phygital” network designed to support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Launched in April 2022, the initiative equips parents, caregivers, teachers, and Anganwadi workers with the knowledge, resources, and training needed for early identification and intervention. By combining digital and on-ground support, Pay Autention creates an inclusive ecosystem that enhances awareness and access to care. Key components of the program include a toll-free helpline, an information-rich website, training for community champions, and pro-bono services offered through the E-Sanidhya web platform. Through collaborations with NGOs, government bodies, and other stakeholders, the initiative continues to strengthen support systems, promote awareness, and improve outcomes for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions and their families.
